Climbing Moon peak is one of the thrilling experience for Climbers and Trekkers. Although Moon peak route was also a shepherds trail detouring from the Indrahar pass to Chamba valley in search of better pastures, had now been opted by adventure seekers as a trekking or climbing route to find acme of the Dharamshala region. This trail leading to the summit offers a challenging trek with quite a steep gradient and curves .The final ascend is over stones and rocks which remains till the top as if the top is also a rocky pinnacle.From the top you can see the plains of Kangra valley and on the other snowcapped mountains surrounds the Himalayan grandeur.

Brief Itinerary :
Day 01 (20 May): Mcleodganj to Triund Hill (3/4 hours) (2875m)
Trekking from Mcleodganj to Triund, we will walk through mesmerizing forests of deodar trees, oak trees and rhododendrons. From the beautiful meadow of Triund, we will be able to enjoy the scenic views of Kangra Valley and Dhauladhar range. Night stay in tents..
Day 02 (21 May): Triund to Lahesh Caves (3/ 4 hours 8 kms) (3500m)
Today, we will get a chance to acclimatize the high altitude. From Triund we will trek to a small shepherd camp at Laka Got and then climb over a ridge to reach the Lahesh Caves.( 3500m)
Day 03 (22 May) : Lahesh Caves or Ilaqa gote to Indrahar Pass and then, on to Chatta (5/6 hours 10 kms) (4420 m)
Day 04 (23 May) : Chatta – Moon Peak (5 hours) ( 4750m)
Today, we will begin our trek early too in order to ensure that we get to Moon Peak on time. It will take us approximately four hours from Chatta to Moon Peak. Once at the peak, we can enjoy the breathtaking views of the Pir Panjal range and then go back to Chatta Camp for the night.
Day 05 (24 May) : Chatta Camp/ Kuanrsi Village – 5/6 hours, 15 kms. (2730m)
Today, we will start descend journey of our trek. walk through forest and downhill to reach the Kuanrsi.
Day 06 (25 May) : Bus back to Chamba town. 72 kms by bus.
On the last day of our trek, we will reached road head in Lamu Village. Drop to Chamba via private Vehicle. Depart for further journey with lots of memories to cherish!
